We call our coffee “Mwaramutse” which means “Good morning” in Kirundi, the official language of Burundi. It is grown in the Kayanza and Ngozi region. The high altitude, volcanic soils, thousands of hills and plentiful rainfall make for the ideal conditions for growing high-quality Arabica coffee. The country’s coffee is grown by local farmers on family-owned micro plantations located in collines (translated from French as ‘hills’).

Popayan Supremo – Colombia

Full-bodied and syrupy, red grape, and chocolate.

Supremo grading is the highest rated Colombian bean available and the Popayán Supremo comes from the region called “Meseta de Popayán” (Popayán plateau) in the Colombian department of Cauca. Located on the eastern side of the highest mountain range in the country, this magnificent region enjoys high altitudes, moderate slopes and fertile, volcanic soils with a cool and rainy climate.

Halu Beriti is a village in the Yirgacheffe region of Southern Ethiopia. The red-brown, well-drained clay soil is fertile and the coffee is grown at high altitude above 2200 metres above sea level. The area looks thickly forested but the hills are dotted with many dwellings and villages growing ‘Garden Coffee’.

The farmers of this bean get a premium price for an outstanding product and our pricing for this premium coffee is generous to our customers.

Buena Esperanza – Nicaragua

Smooth, juicy and balanced, cocoa nib, caramel and apple.

Buena Esperanza (Spanish for “Good Hope”) is a family owned and managed farm, and the crown jewel of the Rajuanse Estates. It is located in a privileged mountain valley in Matagalpa which has rich volcanic soils coupled with typically tropical forest weather allowing it to grow great coffee beans.

Descafeinado – Colombia

This decaffeinated Colombian bean has a citrus flavour, it is medium bodied with a moderate acidity and a sweet aftertaste. It also has some floral attributes and a slight nutty taste.
